Western Red Cedar

Western red cedar has one of the longest lifespans of any North American softwood. It produces long lengths of wood with a true straight grain, with its heartwood having a natural resistance to rot. Cedar wood has a beautiful texture and color, making it one of the most aesthetically pleasing decking and fencing materials. Cedar is lightweight, easy to work with and finish, making it an excellent deck or outdoor fencing material.

PVC

Similar in looks to Composite, PVC decking is taking a step above the rest.

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) decking is an alternative to composite and wood decking material. It is very strong, lighter than composite, and usually carries a longer, 50-year warranty. We love the incredible aesthetics you can get in a PVC board - the colour patterns mimic real wood surprisingly well, and yet do not carry a wood’s downsides of maintenance and aging. While PVC commands a premium price, it virtually guarantees that you will never need to change your decking material.

         Key Points

  • Weather resistant

  • Stain resistant

  • Will not break or rot

  • Low maintenance

  • Variety of colors

  • Fire Rated A

  • Disperses heat very well

IPE Brazilian Walnut

If you're looking for the best decking material, IPE hardwood, also known as Brazilian walnut, is a beautiful exotic wood from South America. It's a super wood that can last up to 50 years and weigh 4.5 pounds per square foot. Although it is the most expensive material we supply, when it comes to deck construction, IPE is often the first choice due to its natural beauty, unrivaled strength and intense durability. A deck created from this material will not suffer from cracks and scratches as it is one of the densest woods in the world.

Thanks to the natural oils and the tight fiber, the wood has ideal resistance to attacks by fungi and insects. This property also makes wood a preferred choice when building a deck because it can withstand harsh weather conditions. It provides a proper transition from the interior to the exterior of the home. The wood has also been rated as the best fire-resistant wood by the National Fire Protection Agency.
