Additional Features

Skirting
Deck skirting is a barrier surrounding the lower perimeter of your deck’s substructure, which closes off and hides its underside. While homeowners typically use this as a visual tool to match the decking material, it can also have a functional purpose, like storage, as an access gate will be provided in most cases.
***Some municipalities require you to have deck skirting on the substructure.

Railings
Generally, deck railings are the last part of a deck anyone considers when they’re thinking about building a new deck. Any deck above 24” off the ground is required to have railings.
Terrasse de Luxe Inc. Installs Aluminum, Glass or builds custom wooden railings to fit any angle around your deck.

Stairs
A properly constructed staircase is one of the most critical elements of a deck project. It provides function, safety and access to the outdoor living space beyond your deck's perimeter.

Outdoor Feature's
Pergolas
Homeowners who have discovered the merits of relaxing and entertaining in their backyards are often considering the next enhancement they can add to their outdoor space.
A pergola is a structure that extends your living space. Designed and oriented correctly on your lot, a pergola can create enough shade to make even the warmest afternoons enjoyable or, if you still need additional protection, you can install a retractable shade cover.
Seating Areas
Terrasse de Luxe Inc. cannot only build you an amazing deck, but we offer custom outdoor furniture to enhance your outdoor living space. Built to size, built to specifications, built for your every outdoor need. Whether you want a seating area to lounge in or to enhance your BBQ party space, we’ve got you covered.

Gardening features
Whether you want a small planting garden or large planter box Terrasse de Luxe Inc. can build custom planter boxes adding the final touches to outdoor project.

Staining Services
As your deck gets older, the signs of use and weathering become more apparent. In Montreal, the lifespan of your deck can be determined more by the weather, than in warmer countries.
Treating your existing deck to preserve its life and its overall look, generally means one of two things, oiling it or staining it. Lucky for you Terrasse De luxe Inc. has you covered.
Terrasse de Luxe Inc. offers a hassle free and affordable service to come and stain or oil your deck every 1-2 years once your deck requires it.

*Prices vary based on your deck size & condition of current deck

So what are the differences between oils and stains?
Decking Oils
Decking Oils are designed to preserve the wood and replace its natural oils, which over time especially in this climate fade. Oils were designed to enhance and preserve the woods natural color and not necessarily change the color of the timber.
Application- Recommended that it be applied every 12-18 months
Decking Stains
Decking stains were designed to seal the top layers of the surface to protect them from harmful elements such as the sun, mold and moisture. Stains come in a variety of colors from which you can obtain your desired look.
Application- Recommended that it be applied every 1-3 years
Why not paint your deck?
A common question facing many deck owners is whether they should paint or stain their deck when it’s in need of attention.
Paint provides a uniform look that lasts longer than stains/oils and can also hide flaws on your timber. Over time as your deck ages/weathers from the climate and general usage, paint will have a tendency to peel, crack and chip off leaving a less desirable look.
The main reason, we prefer to stain/oil decks over paint is that stains and oils seep into the wood preserving it whereas paint stays on the surface which masks/changes the color of the material and takes away from the natural wooden look.
